It is the place to visit an unknown ornithological paradise, a unique ecological destination where it is possible to observe more than 334 bird species: 13 of them endemic or almost endemic and 14 of them threatened to become extinct, 32 different species of humming birds and also 29 species of migrant birds. This is one of the annual stops of the migrations of the birds of prey and a better place to watch the ‘Oso de Anteojos’ (spectacles bear).

When carrying out ornithological tours, there is a possibility of three different kinds of lodging in the low, middle and high part of the Hydrographic basin of ‘Rio Blanco : first, the house ‘Viveros’ located at 2550 meters above sea level and appropriate for 30 persons which can reach the house by car; second, in the middle part you find ‘Navarra’, located at 2900 meters above sea level and which you can reach by horse or by foot and finally there is ‘Martinica’, located in the highest level at 3.500 meters above sea level and accessible by jeep.
