This is also a place of constant investigation
on the aspects of phenology and the ecology of this family
of plants. In posterior stages, it is planned to establish
live collections of other families of plants in the reserve
such as Bromeliads and Araceous (Anturios) for education and
investigation.
Bromeliads are mostly epiphytes (live
on other plants) and are relatives of the pineapple. They
are a favorite food of the Andean bears and are found at all
the altitudes in the reserve in a great variety of forms and
colors.
